Gallery 39 is an art gallery that features the work of local artists. We also house a number of cats, from local rescue K9 Advocacy, who are looking for their forever homes.
We’re like a cat café but with art instead of coffee, and we work in a similar way:
– folks pay to spend 50 minutes hanging out with the cats
– hopefully, some of the folks fall in love with the cats and want to adopt them
– K9 Advocacy processes their adoption
– hosting the cats here allows K9 to take in more cats in need
– Cats get loving homes
Our History
Gallery 39 started as a small gallery to showcase the work of local artists.
This newest project began with a simple act of fostering; giving a mom and her kittens a safe, sunny place to stay among the artwork.
What we didn’t expect was how much joy they’d bring (to us and to visitors): people would stop in to Lizzy B’s to pick up some needle art supplies or to get something framed, or they would have dropped by Gallery 39 to check out the latest exhibition, and they’d end up sitting on the floor, playing with the cats.
The laughter, the calm, the connection – it felt like art in motion.
That’s when we realized we could create something special:
a space where creativity and compassion share the same walls.
A place where local artists can display their work, and rescue cats can be seen, loved, and adopted into new homes.
Every brushstroke, every pawprint, every visitor who smiles … it all becomes part of the story.
