Susan D. Turner

Susan D. Turner, FAIA is an architect who specializes in historic preservation.  She has been watercolouring for 45 years and has studied under many artists.  Her work reflects her impressions of people, places, and things, in varying styles depending on mood. 

1979 Studied under Artists Gordon Adaskin R.C.A. and Winston Leathers RCA, University of Manitoba, Faculty of Architecture, Figure Drawing and Watercolor Rendering

1987 Studied with Artist Cliff Eyland, Technical University of Nova Scotia (now Dalhousie)

2014 Studied under Artist Tom Deischbourg Lill Street Art Gallery, Chicago: Watercolour still life, shade and shadow, color mixing, and loosening your style.

2018 Studied under Artist Ann Cook, Milwaukee Continuing Education classes, Watercolour experiments in colour, texture and composition.

2019  Studied under Artist Rita Judd, SBA Dip. SFP, International waters: watercolour composition, textures and techniques.

2018 Embroiderers’ Association of Canada Seminar Theme Award (second place) for “Number One” , a set of 10 watercolour panels of fabric, over-embroidered and quilted, to describe the endless highway number one, that connects all of Canada just as the Embroiderers’ Association of Canada connects embroiderers.

2025 Studied under Jessica Holl, MFA, Winnipeg Art Gallery: Intensive Watercolours.
